Walker Kessler is listed as available for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Sacramento Kings on Nov. 4, wearing a splint on his left finger. Juan Paolo David of Heavy reported that the Lakers’ injury report for the game carries Kessler with an available designation and the finger listed as the reason.
David wrote that Kessler hurt the finger in training camp and that the injury has not affected his production. The Lakers have not named a specific injury to the finger, and no reporter has. As of Nov. 4, the splint is the only treatment that has been described publicly.
Adou Thiero remains the only Laker carrying a designation other than available. David reported he is out for left knee injury management, with no timetable given. That is unchanged from the Nov. 3 report, when JJ Redick said Thiero was trending in the right direction.
An available designation means Kessler is cleared to play on Nov. 4. Nothing in the report speaks to how many minutes he will get or whether the splint limits him, and neither the team nor Redick has addressed that.
