Luka Dončić Scores 45 as the Los Angeles Lakers Beat the Toronto Raptors

Man in a suit in arena stands studying a stat sheet, his eyes drawn as cartoon bulging eyes.

Luka Dončić had 45 points, a season-high 15 rebounds, six assists and five steals in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 131-125 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers improved to 5-2, including 3-1 at home, while the Raptors fell to 3-3.

He made 12 of 23 shots, hitting eight three-pointers, and made all of his 13 free throws. He also had a block in 35 minutes and finished plus-27. His one real flaw was seven turnovers.

Four of his five steals came in the first quarter. His eight threes tied his season high, and it was his fourth straight game with at least 35 points.

The rare part was the combination. According to ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly, Dončić became the first player in league history to post that line.

Dončić had 24 points and six threes by halftime, and the Lakers built a 26-point lead in the third quarter. They led 104-82 after three, but Toronto got back into the game while Dončić sat.

The Raptors outscored Los Angeles 43-27 in the fourth quarter and cut the final margin to six. Scottie Barnes scored 29 points for Toronto and RJ Barrett added 22. Walker Kessler had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, and Austin Reaves scored 21.

The Volume Is Real, the Shooting Was Hot

Most of the scoring came from three-pointers and free throws. His eight threes produced 24 points and the free throws added 13. He made only 4 of 11 inside the arc, so the long-range shooting carried the night.

Hitting 8 of 12 from deep against a Toronto team playing without Kawhi Leonard is not a pace anyone should project forward. His scoring level is less of an outlier than the stat line was, though: he took 13 free throws to go with 23 shots, which is steady pressure on a defense, and he is averaging 36.2 points this season.

Miami Visits Crypto.com Arena on Monday

The Lakers play the second game of a back-to-back against the Miami Heat at Crypto.com Arena on Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. PT. The questions are whether Dončić stays near his season average on tired legs, and whether the bench that gave back a 25-point lead to Golden State can protect one this time.
